A Message From Mike “Verse” Mills of LFM
Published on March 30, 2012
My name is Michael Mills and my wife Lora needs a heart transplant. Lora was born with a congenital heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia. She has had a total of 5 open-heart surgeries to date to keep her original heart operational to this point. The cardiologists at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida have informed us that Lora will need a heart transplant within the next 3 to 4 years if the heart she has now lasts that long.
The impact of completing this goal would be a tremendous blessing to our family. Lora’s lifelong dream is to conceive a child and become a Registered Nurse, but she has not been able to do these things because of her heart defect. Having a new heart would allow her to have a new life.
What We Need
In preparing for this fund with Shands Hospital we were told not to set a specific amount of money to raise. With this being said, our family has come to an agreement that any funds not used for the heart transplant will be donated to the pediatric ward of Shands Hospital. We want to be a blessing as much as you are blessing us.
Other Ways You Can Help
Sharing this page and cause with as many people as possible would help us absolutely reach our goal. Please use the sharing capabilities of this site to spread the word about Lora’s fund. We thank you in advance for your giving and prayers.
