“This Is Me” by Trini is a unique “Pop-Club” sounding album that focuses on individuals finding “Who they are” or their identity in Christ. With features from Mr. Coldstone, AppleJaxx, and J. Hoard and Production that is handled by: Adriel Ferguson, Spit Jones, Luke Witherspoon, Epik The Dawn and Battle Axe.

I’ve heard different styles of music, but when I listened to this album I heard something unique. Seven songs make a short album, but it’s a short and sweet album. If you like to hear female vocals over a club sound then this album will be the right buy for you.

The first song: “Go” sounds like something you would hear on modern mainstream radio, and that’s from a perspective of saying: “it would make radio play”. There is no doubt in my mind that DJ’s in the HHH circle will be giving this song plenty of spins.

This is a worthy album that will make an excellent gift for anyone who likes Pop/Hip-Hop/Club music. The lyrics are clean, Christ-centered, and encouraging. The melodies in the hooks are catchy and will leave guys who claim to not like female singers singing these hooks when their buddies aren’t present. Most of the songs on the album have a sound that is similar to what gets modern mainstream radio play such as Kesha or Black Eyed Peas, but with a Christian twist and a slight difference in musical style.

The last song on the album: “I Will Sing” caught me off guard, and was actually a completely different genre than I expected to hear due to the worship sound it brought. Overall it’s hard to pick a favorite song on the album because they are all equally catchy, but if I had to pick just one it would have to be “Go”.

“Never Gonna Give Up”, “My Hallelujah”, “This is Me” were some other songs that stuck out on this album and they are definitely worth checking out. Don’t just take my advice though, your daughters will be begging for this album as soon as they hear a couple of the songs on it. The more you listen to this album, the more you’ll be playing it. This is one of those albums that will grow on you after you hear it a couple times.
