Toronto born, Canadian based rapper/producer Die-Rek released his debut 12” inch single “Questions” in 2005 with the B side “Come Alive”, distributed by “Heavyweights” record pool, home of DJ Babu, Strong Arm Steady and Truly OdD. The single was spun internationally in the U.K., Germany, the West Indies and cities Los Angeles, New York and all across Canada. In 2006 Die-Rek’s exposure reached newsstands and received press in the Toronto Star as the featured artist in an article revolving around “Positive Hip Hop”. While keeping busy collaborating on mixtapes, compilations, and albums, Die-Rek was steadily working on his production. As a successful winner of the Kevin Nottingham via Fantastic Voyage (UK Record Label) remix beat competition in Dec 2010, but it didn’t stop there.

Die-Rek won a featured spot for his track entitled “Remember” on Kevin Nottingham’s “Please Listen to my Demo” mixtape featuring DJ Booth, in promotion of the Documentary which featured artist like Talib Kweli, Pete Rock and Cl Smooth, DJ Quick, Naughty by Nature, Big Pooh, to name a few. In 2011 Die-Rek released a self-produced compilation entitled “The Die-Version Project”, a project that featured a song entitled “Crush” by female emcee ChrisJay, the record landed a feature on MC Lytes “Hip Hop Sisters” and was released on a mixtape with various other prominent underground female emcees. In 2012 Die-Rek’s live energetic performance at the SXSW festival caught the attention of A&R’s and immediately after performing Die-Rek was approached by independent record label Fatbeats Records. Die-Rek landed distribution and went on to release his first EP with FatBeats records in 2013 entitled “Butta Breath”.

Despite much success, Die-Rek decided to pursue another passion through education and went back to college and University studying Child and Youth work in an effort to support children and youth in need. While continuing his studies, Die-Rek still worked on his production in the time being and ended up producing his first Billboard hit record entitled “Hypostatic Union” released by Lampmode Recording artist Shai Linne, debuting #4 on the Gospel album charts, Die-Rek went on to produce 4 records on this album, the album peaked to #26 on the Billboard charts. In 2018 Die-Rek is getting ready to release his first full-length album under a new label and management, the long-awaited is just about here, prepare your hearts and minds as Die-Rek is about to infiltrate through beats and rhymes and reveal once again why he has been a force to reckon with.
