Raymond Anderson was born and raised in a small town in Louisiana. Like a lot of youth nowadays, he grew up in a single-parent home. His mom left his father alone to care for him and his sister when he was just two years old. Her decision to leave had a lot to do with her addiction to alcohol. Despite the lack of support from his mother, his father did his best to make sure that he had what he needed.

Although he didn’t realize it until later in life, Raymond was always searching for something to fill the void in his life that his mother left. As a result, he turned to drugs and alcohol. His addictions caused him to get more involved in the streets. He began to hustle to feed his drug habits. After several years of this lifestyle, he met his future wife Latrisha.

Latrisha was an instrumental part of the changes that began to happen in Raymond. After the birth of their first child, they moved to Atlanta, GA for more opportunities and a fresh start in life. This is where Raymond found Christ. Once Raymond had his second child, he wanted to make some changes in his lifestyle so that he could set a good example for his children. He started by changing the type of music that he listened to. Lecrae’s Christian hip-hop album, “Gravity” was the music of choice. This album began to minister to Raymond which ultimately is what inspired the change.

Now as a new man of faith, Raymond was in search of his purpose in life. He found out that purpose on a trip back home to Louisiana during the Christmas holidays in 2014. He and his family visited his wife’s mom who was dealing with some life-threatening health issues. While en route, they rapped and sang into a cell phone and sent it to her mom with hopes of cheering her up. Once her mom heard Raymond, she called him and told him that he should consider doing music for real. Ray Knowledge was born.

Ray Knowledge had never rapped prior to his walk with Christ, so this newfound purpose was hard to believe for him. However, he stayed committed and focused on improving his gifts every day. He is now in the process of working on his third studio album. Music has also opened up other doors of opportunity for him and his family. He has opened up a business for video production and photography.

This now father of 4 can take no credit for the many blessings in his life. Since that leap of faith to give his life to God, his life has turned for the better, and He gives all glory to God.
