NASHVILLE, TN – February 5, 2013- B.Reith has injected a dose of optimism in a world that’s taken its share of setbacks with the release of his video “2 Steps Forward”, which was co-directed by Matthew Robertson (CIK Productions) and Calvin Nowell (Nside Entertainment).
When B.Reith was asked about the meaning of the song, here is what he said: “Well, 2 Steps Forward is definitely a fun party track. But lyrically I was being transparent about my frustrations in dealing with life setbacks. Life can be very frustrating and disheartening when you feel like it’s working against you. It’s like you keep pushing and pushing and finally break through only to have a setback push you back and take away all your momentum. It can feel like you’re moving backwards. It’s very tempting to quit, very easy to lose hope. But life is a process. And with God things are not linear. “These light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” 2 Corinthians 4:17
Reith also stated, “Two ‘God’ steps are way more progressive than five human backward steps. His grace is sufficient. And the process of moving forward and getting set back is what develops our character and shapes us into people of perseverance. The resistance develops our strength. I’m excited about the video because it points people back to the record “How the Story Ends” which I so believe in, and worked so diligently on. I can’t wait for more and more people to experience everything that I put into the songs on that record!”
Creative is an understatement when referencing B.Reith, given the fact that his talents encompass rapping, singing, writing, as well as producing his own beats. In fact, the “2 Steps Forward” beat was created and produced by Reith. It primarily features a rhythmic coupling of handclaps and a high-hat-like sound that Reith formed with his mouth. Reith’s story is portrayed with such innovative and clever rhymes that they’re sure to make you smile. When a catchy beat is paired with stimulating lyrics, the outcome is a song that captures ALL audiences. Yep, B.Reith did it again!
