Hailing from Suriname, a country on the northeastern Atlantic coast of South America, Derrick S Roach, better known as Mr.D.Tunes is an up-and-coming Christian hip-hop artist with a penchant for writing infectious music and relatable narratives. Inspired greatly by God and the idea of living on the edge, every single day to its absolute fullest, Mr.D.Tunes embarked on his journey in music to bring love, joy, and excitement to people. With music roots tracing all the way back to middle school where he independently published his first song on a CD to stop bullying, the multitalented individual went on to become a junior Olympic swimmer, a youth speaker at age 12, and also started to preach at multiple churches. Derrick was also eventually invited to speak at a plethora of facilities such as schools, recreational facilities, detention centers, churches, and many others.

However, everything changed when he ended up in a hospital, losing his ability to walk due to 8 tumors. Going through what seems like never-ending waves of adversity and tribulations, Mr. D.Tunes strives to continue living life with fervor and determination. Even though Mr. D.Tunes managed to start to walk again, he is still living with tumors and fighting the toughest battles every single day. Those who suffer the most, usually give back the most. That is Mr. D.Tunes’ greatest hope for his music, to inspire others with his story through the power of God and music. With plans to release even more original material in the near future, Mr.D.Tunes hopes to engage current audiences and reach out to new ones with his exciting yet profound creations. Currently based in Tampa Bay, FL, Mr.D.Tunes also runs an organization, KidsAreNext, and was awarded numerous contracts to mentor, tutor, teach and share his talents with kids of all ages. With four businesses, over 100 team members and a host of business partners, Derrick’s fans come from all walks of life all over the world.
