Kansas City, Missouri has had a secret growing behind the scenes since 2007 it’s a new label called Kingdom City Records. Founder Michael Watson who is a professional basketball player had a dream and a love for all music genres followed by a heart to reach youth the world over. So, with close friends in his sphere of influence, Michael pursued beginning a record label and now 2 years later he and the Kingdom City Records staff have seen so many lives changed for the Kingdom of God. “The vision is simple, to lead people to the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. We understand the time and challenges we face in today’s society where the word “Christian” is likened to just another word and has lost its true meaning. Kingdom City Records is dedicated in reaching the lost and encouraging believers with Biblical, Christ-centered music. We also realize that music is only one part of the ministry and that discipleship and evangelism are essential tools in reaching our goal, says Michael Watson founder of Kingdom City Records.
Kingdom City Records just recently signed with Life-Line Worldwide for their services. “I am so glad to have Kingdom City Records on board because of the ministry mind-set and the music which is top notch for the hip-hop and urban genres” says Jason Hollis owner of Life-Line Worldwide. Kingdom City Records has also just recently signed with Infinity Music Distribution for national distribution to get the music out to the masses. “I am excited to have yet another label with artists that have been a part of the 116 Clique series and I’m looking forward to working with them because of their standards in their lyrics and the quality of their music,” says Sales Manager, Rick Greene Infinity Music Distribution.
The first artist releasing from Kingdom City Records will be Dillon Chase and his new project, “The Pursuit” who you have heard on the 116 Clique series releases from Reach Records; the album will be releasing September 29th through Infinity Music Distribution. Some of the other artists on the Kingdom City Records roster are Dre Sr. , Dry Bonez Live(featuring 1-Lyfe of the 116 Clique Series), Azriel, Du’CZon, Micah Smith, and TeRance Golden. Get ready for another urban explosion hitting the streets this summer.
