It was through those two instruments where he developed his liking for rap. His name was given by a local drug dealer, it was at first (GodSon) and because of “conflicting” name issues, he shortened it to GS. Since then he has written for many artists in the industry and continue to lend musical advice. At the time he had not put out an album but yet his music was played on the radio in many states. GS was once a part of a rap group called “Grind Mode Click” before venturing off and becoming a solo artist. GS is now back in Houston after spending 3 years in the bay area (California) and learning more about music. His honesty in his music stems from his church filled upbringing. Being introduced to drugs, sex, and violence all his life, he fell victim to the streets. After having a drug suspicion case completely dropped in 2003, he went legit with music 100%. GS gave his life COMPLETELY to Christ in January 2011 and regardless of his poverty-stricken life or dysfunctional beginning, he showed the world that he was more than just another kid out the “hood”.
