Talented Christian rap artist Conquest has debuted a new project, “MLK.” This song is off his latest album, “Radical Interruption: A Motion Picture.” This special edition video is directed by the talented Erica Mason. Being that it is a remix it features cameos and collaborations from other notable Christian rap artists.

This project is based on a unique concept. The entire video and album are incredibly unique and something that the listeners today will find not only relatable but different from the other music that is out there. All Christian music is designed to teach and preach. However, few artists have mastered the art of doing this in a way that will be relatable to the listeners. This can be done in many ways but none seem as effective as this latest song from Conquest.

As Christians, we need to share the word. We act as emissaries for Christ. That is our goal, to share his teachings and to share the messages that are contained within the Bible. We have many biblical examples that we can use to achieve this. We can emulate them but as the generations progress, many find it hard to relate to such historical figures from long ago. While these biblical figures are of the highest standards, sometimes people need things that are a little more relevant to life and the world today.

Popular culture and influential figures of the modern world are what is relevant. People relate to individuals they find iconic or that they can relate to, such as celebrities or politicians, or even other notable historical figures from recent decades. They like people who share the same values and ideals and in many ways strive to be beacons of hope and goodness in the world.

All the artists that were involved in creating this video or aware of that strain of logic. They know how influential pop culture icons and historical figures can be. They know that these types of people usually hold the greatest influence over the masses today.  That knowledge gave birth to this truly unique video and song.

So what makes this video different from the other Christian music videos that are out there? Why is it being called unique? By having notable Christian musicians portray iconic individuals like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and even Martin Luther King Jr. You have characters that the viewers relate to and identify with. 

You have recent historical figures that are easily recognizable. Incorporating such iconic individuals from popular culture and having them share Christian messages, is what makes this project unique. You are updating the whole idea of Christ and the apostles preaching the gospel messages to the people. This is also a guaranteed way to preach to the viewers as they watch the video and have this song resonate with them. The song is not only unique but has the power to influence a multitude of people and ultimately lead them back to the Bible and back to Christ.
