The landscape of Christian Hip Hop is evolving, and Latino artists are at the forefront, breaking barriers and expanding their influence on a global scale. Recently, two standout artists from Puerto Rico, Alexxander and Tommy Royale, have made significant strides in their careers, signing with major American labels and showcasing the growing impact of Latino voices in the Christian music industry.

Alexxander, hailing from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, carries a rich musical heritage. With a grandfather from La Orquesta Nater and a father, Luis Santiago, a gospel music pioneer, Alexxander’s roots run deep. His passion for songwriting, influenced by poetry and Psalms, has led him to compose over 100 songs, blending reggaeton, Latin rhythms, pop, rock, and EDM. His tracks like “Todo Por Ti,” “De Camino,” and “SANAME” have garnered millions of views and streams, resonating with audiences worldwide. He can now add being the second Latino signee at Reach Records to his list of recent accomplishments which include nominations for prestigious awards and participation in the first-ever Latin Music Showcase at the Dove Awards 2023

Meanwhile, Tommy Royale has taken a bold step by signing with Capitol Records, marking a pivotal moment in his career. After years of discussions, Royale felt the timing was finally right. His heartfelt gratitude towards his support system reflects the strong community that has propelled him forward. A 2020 Rapzilla Freshman, Tommy’s journey has been one of perseverance and self-discovery. Initially hesitant to return to Spanish music after finding some buzz with English tracks, it was producer Cardec who encouraged him to embrace his roots. They spent a year experimenting with vocal tones and sounds, blending Puerto Rican culture with the Hip Hop influences from Royale’s upbringing in Florida. This fusion has crafted a distinct sound that continues to evolve, as Royale notes the ongoing changes in his voice and delivery.

These milestones highlight a significant shift in the Christian Hip Hop scene, where Latino artists are not just participating but leading. Their stories of faith, resilience, and creativity continue to inspire, proving that music transcends borders and languages, uniting people through the universal message of God’s love.
