Kenneth Townsell Drops Poignant ‘Seems Like Forever 2’

Hailing from Chicago, you can hear the sounds of the city flow through Kenneth Townsell. His upcoming project Seems Like Forever 2 is a love letter to his life and where he’s come to now.

“I’ve struggled my whole life, so it’s nothing new to me. As of late things have been tough. My grandma passed away unexpectedly on the same day Kobe Bryant died after the hospital I work for had mishaps with her care. Then in March I fractured my face in 4 places. My mom has a lot of health issues and no income so I’ve been helping take care of her and my mother in law.”

The project is releasing on his 36th birthday and is a celebration of encouragement, resilience, and trust that God will propel you forward in the midst of hardship.

He continued, “My sister was in an accident with an 18 wheeler on the expressway and by God’s grace made it out. On top of all this, my landlord is selling our house so my family have to move and I work in healthcare so it has been hard working during this pandemic. Despite all these things, I know God is faithful.”

This is not a “turn-up” project, this is an album that will have you reflecting on what matters most to your life.

“Before my grandma passed away she told me not to stop creating music,” Townsell revealed. “I want to make sure I made no excuses to honor her and glorify the Lord.”

The emcee stepped out in faith and teamed up with his friend Isaac Wheadon. This album was self-recorded and produced by Wheadon.

“This album is not perfect, but it shows that God loves imperfect people. This album is me sharing part of my story and the message is about persevering and trusting God despite what life brings your way,” shared the rapper. “I pray this album encourages the listeners to follow the Lord and trust Him.”
