“Where the Road Breaks, Faith Builds: ‘Avenue J’ Is the Journey You Didn’t Know You Needed”

Published on April 16, 2025

My name is Christopher Sone Franklin, but most know me as SONE—a husband first, father second, and minister always. What I’m submitting to you isn’t just a book—it’s a movement. Avenue J: The Road to Deconstruction is a 10-day devotional that walks readers through pain, brokenness, and the process of letting God rebuild what life tore down. Each chapter is matched with a song from the Avenue J album, so the message isn’t just read—it’s felt.

This book is for the overlooked. The tired. The ones on the edge of giving up but still searching for hope. I wrote this in a season where God stripped me of everything—status, comfort, even identity—just to show me who I really am in Him. I believe there are people in our space who need to hear that same truth.

I’m submitting Avenue J because I know it speaks to the culture in a language we understand. It’s honest, relatable, and rooted in scripture. And the music that comes with it? It brings the message to life in a way devotionals usually don’t.

Whether it’s for a podcast, interview, feature, or book table—I’m not just asking for support, I’m offering a tool that can meet people right where they are.

Let me know if I can send you a physical copy, drop some music your way, or show up to share this message in person.

Thanks,
Christopher

Christopher Sone Franklin, known in the Christian hip-hop scene as SONE, is pulling back the curtain on one of the realest projects he’s ever done. His new 10-day devotional, Avenue J: The Road to Deconstruction, is more than a book—it’s a full experience. Each chapter comes with its own track, making it a journey through scripture, music, and real-life struggle turned redemption.

This ain’t your grandma’s devotional. Avenue J is raw, transparent, and spirit-led. It’s the story of a man who had to watch everything fall apart before God could rebuild him. As a husband first, father second, and minister through it all, SONE lays it all on the table—no filters, no fluff.

“Sometimes God has to break you down just to build the version of you He originally intended. That’s what Avenue J is,” says Franklin. “It’s for anybody who’s been through it, felt stuck, or is walking through the fire right now.”

To celebrate the release, SONE is throwing an album release party in Orlando on September 6th at Manny Vswrld Church. Expect live performances, powerful testimonies, and the kind of atmosphere where chains break and faith gets real.

Avenue J: The Road to Deconstruction is up for pre-order now. And when you cop the book, you get the full 10-track album for free through a scannable QR code inside. Each track matches a chapter—so you’re not just reading the message, you’re feeling it.

SONE is also the founder of God At Work Inc., a movement using music, visuals, and devotionals to reach the streets and speak life into the culture.
