[read.] RMG Amplify Welcomes BrvndonP!

Published on July 7, 2018

RMG is proud to announce its partnership with the very talented BrvndonP. The man born Brandon Peavy first connected with RMG founders Derek Minor and Doc Watson back in the day because they ran in the same circles. Minor especially took note of his talent after producing the title track for his 2015 album Empire. Since then, it’s been mutual admiration for each other’s work ethic and artistry.

“He’s an amazing artist with a great feel for what makes music GOOD,” Minor said.

“I’m looking forward to a long-lasting business relationship and different things to make some things happen and make some things grow,” BrvndonP shared. “What Derek and Doc are doing is definitely for the culture of CHH. What I’ve realized is they just like giving. Whatever resources they have, they’re more than capable and they’re more than happy to share it with any other person, which is dope.”

BrvndonP was introduced to the music scene nearly 10 years ago as Black Knight, where he built success as a producer and drummer who toured with Andy Mineo. In 2016, he announced his name change from Black Knight to BrvndonP to resemble his given name and reflect a desire to showcase authenticity in his music. He then released a self-titled album, which featured E-40 and Lecrae. BrvndonP has amassed more than 1 million streams on Spotify since its release, but BrvndonP has kept fans waiting for another LP until now. He is prepping a new project, Better Late Than Never, to express the duality of the time it takes for listeners to understand his craft and also his own journey of perfecting his art.

“BrvndonP is one of the best producers in the game,” Watson said. “Amplify is really excited to work with him. This project is going to drop quickly and I’m excited about what it will do for the culture.”

“Better Late Than Never is going to change my life,” BrvndonP promised.

He is also looking forward to using RMG Amplify as a role model for his own collective, RPSMG. The group, which dropped the popular  We Do It mixtape in 2014, is seeking to build its own platform to provide resources and encouragement to artists.
