Our ears are about to be graced by a new track from DJLC his latest video “Forever” which dropped a little over 2 weeks ago. For a Christian hip-hop song this one is indeed very upbeat and positive.

That can be taken in a literal way regarding the music and the beats which are just amazing.

If you focus on the lyrics though, you get an even more in depth look at that emotion in essence. The lyrics are very emotional but very positive as well. They focus entirely on love. In fact, that is mentioned in one of the verses, the lines being “I will love you forever and ever,” talking about the love that the singer has for God.  We can also relate to that as Christians, which is another great reason to listen to this song.

What is also referenced several times in this song is calling on God’s power. Turning to Him not just in our moments of need, but also turning over any situations that we might be struggling with to Him and focusing on His love and grace, as well as being able to return that love to Him.

The focus of this piece is on some of the core Christian values like love and grace, and having a kindred affection for God, which is something that we all need. We’re taught to respect and fear God, but at the same time we also need to have love for Him. He is the Creator and heavenly Father, so songs like this that actually give praise and love to Him are truly wonderful.

Overall, this piece of music is a modern masterpiece not only because of the genre that it is, but also because of the heartfelt and inspirational lyrics.
