SouthSideJoz Opens Up About Deliverance, Faith & CHH
Southside Joz will tell you plainly: she used to read tarot cards for 300 people at a time on Instagram Live. “I was recruiting for Satan,” she says. Her road from there to here is one of the most striking testimonies you’ll hear in Christian hip-hop.
On this episode of the Fresh Leftovers Radio Show, hosts Legacy the Prince, Queen Lee, and DJ B4EY sit down with the Florida artist for an honest conversation about deception, deliverance, and finding her voice.
In this episode, Joz opens up about:
- Growing up in a toxic home she never wanted to be in — and how sleepovers at a churchgoing friend’s house planted the first seeds
- Getting pulled into new age and tarot by someone who used the exact tactic the serpent used in Eden: “Did God really say that?”
- The spiritual warfare she walked through to get free — and the night God told her to throw it all out
- Why she sat back for a full year and studied the CHH space before she ever released a song
- The difference between chasing a sound and staying authentically herself as an artist
- The heart behind her new single “Birkenstock” — taking the focus off success and materialism
It’s a powerful reminder that the enemy may know your past, but only God holds your future.
