Exit Boonk Gang. Enter Holy Gabbana.
John Gabbana, FKA Boonk Gang is living unashamed and sharing how he came into the faith.
Exit Boonk Gang
The Bible teaches us that once we accept and abide in Jesus we are transformed. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come. The old has gone and the new is here! Exit John Gabbana, and enter the Holy Gabbana.
“I had an encounter when I was locked up in jail. That’s something that I’ll never forget. It was spiritual and it was life-changing. When I got out of jail. I got sidetracked and continued to live fleshly and worldly. But years later a brother of mine had his own testimony. One man plants another man waters and God gets an increase,” explains Gabbana.
After hearing about his friends’ near-death experience, Gabbana fully surrendered his life to Jesus and was baptized in February 2021. Now he’s walking with God completely and sincerely. Exit John Gabbana. Enter Holy Gabbana.
Before his transformation, Gabbana says he knew God created all things but, “I didn’t know anything about him. I didn’t understand why things in my life happened. But see now when I think about God, he says all things work out together for the good of them who love him and are called according to his purpose. All things aren’t good. But the bad things work out for the good.”

Gabbana now knows the power of God’s love. “God is a father. I understand. And his job is not to give us a comfortable life but to build character within us. To form and shape us into what he wants us to be. Everything that I’ve been through is to share it with somebody else.”
The viral rapper admits that he had to learn how to be true to who he was after giving his life to God. “I ain’t know how to be me, be fire, be free, and still worship God in my music and today’s culture.” Now after over a year and a half, Gabanna is releasing new music. His song Holy Flow dropped last year. “I’m starting to find me and making faith-based music. And make it fire and fit into today’s culture.”
Gabbana realized at the height of fame that success didn’t bring him happiness. “I put myself out there with Boonk Gang and I did that because I felt like that would help change my life. And it did but I didn’t have peace. I was searching for happiness. The money didn’t bring happiness. The girls I slept with didn’t bring happiness. Views didn’t bring happiness. I wanted happiness. I wanted peace. I didn’t get past that point until I gave my life to Christ.”
With the release of his Documentary “I am John Gabbana” he is revealing who he really is in spirit and in truth. “People see me on the internet and they have their perception of me. The videos on the internet were me trying to strategize a way out of the sunken place I was in. They don’t know the abuse I went through. A lot of those videos I was homeless and still making videos. Because I believed it would set me free in life.”
His desire is to reach those who have yet to come into the faith. “If people can see me and then see how God is able to restore and flip things around. I’m not ashamed to share my failures with people because sharing my failures with somebody could really encourage them. It’s never too late to make a turnaround.”
