3 Ways To Connect With God in 2025
Published on January 30, 2025
In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a close connection with God is essential. With work demands, or parenting responsibilities, or never-ending lists of ministry tasks, our lives can become overwhelmingly busy. In the hustle and bustle, we often forget how crucial it is to stay linked to the source of our life and strength. It is our connection with our Lord that keeps us grounded amidst all of the challenges life brings. Here are three ways to connect to God in 2025.
CONNECT WITH GOD THROUGH WORSHIP
Psalm 95:6 — “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”
To worship God simply means to acknowledge Him as Lord and give him the worth, honor, and reverence He deserves. Beyond the songs we sing, worship is a lifestyle. Our God is good, faithful, and worthy of all the worship due His name; not just because of what He has done, but because of who He is. The hymns of old would say, “When I think about the goodness of Jesus, and all he has done for me, my soul cries “Hallelujah!” Praise God for saving me.” Hallelujah is the cry of the soul that remembers God’s devotion to them and worships Him because He is worthy of ours. No matter how laborious life can be, there is always room for worship. Take a few moments to reflect on the ways God has been faithful to you this week and worship as a response to His faithfulness.
CONNECT WITH GOD IN COMMUNITY
Hebrews 10:24-25 — “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.”
Spending time in fellowship with other Christian is a great way to stay connected to Jesus and His mission for His people. Oftentimes when our plate fills up with tasks, fellowship with the body is one of the first things we take off it. We become ”ok” with skipping Sunday service or begin replacing commitments like weekly bible study group with tasks that seem more immediate and necessary. When we do so, we can lose sight of how necessary fellowship is for our spiritual well being. God dwells in and among His people. Fellowship with our spiritual family is the place we can experience the love of Jesus, the comfort of the Spirit, and the faithfulness of the Father through His children. Together we can talk to God, spend time learning about Him, and find encouragement to continue to live for Christ faithfully. No matter how full your schedule becomes, making space for fellowship with the body is essential for your relationship with the Lord.
CONNECT WITH GOD THROUGH SERVICE
Galatians 5:13 — “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
One of the simplest ways to align ourselves with the heart and mind of Christ is through serving others. Not only are we obeying the commands of scripture, we are glorifying our King Jesus and advancing His kingdom in the world. When we labor in service unto others, we work with our King to bring a taste of heaven on earth, showing the world how beautiful life in God’s Kingdom is now and will be. The Bible says there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for a friend. The ultimate act of service is Jesus laying His life down for us, and in a similar way, he calls us to lay down our lives for the good of others. When we are actively connected to the mission of Jesus to spread His love and goodness in the earth, we are actively walking in step with the heart and mind of our God.
STAY CONNECTED
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing…” – John 15:5
Jesus tells us in the scriptures a fruitful life is solely dependent upon our connection to Him, the one who gives life, and whom himself is life. A life apart from Him is fruitless. If we want a life that is filled with purpose and lasting impact, we must stay connected to Christ and continue strengthening our relationship with God. When we make it a priority to acknowledge God daily, fellowship with His body regularly, and share His Kingdom with the world, we deepen the bond we share with the lover of our souls. So stay connected! Reconnect! Or get connected! He desires to be connected with you! The best decision you can make is choosing to connect with God in 2025.
