We cannot escape the troubles of this world, however I do believe that one day, every tear will be wiped away from our eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain (Revelations 21:4). Until then, with all the chaos going on in this world, we have to be reminded constantly that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). We should also know that we are made right with God through our belief in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). According to Hebrews 9:22, every one of our sins cannot be forgiven without the blood of the death of Jesus. So despite our imperfections and all temptations, as believers, we are over-comers by the blood of Jesus Christ (Revelations 12:11).

As we remain rooted in Christ (John 15) we receive the ability to walk in the gifts (1 Corinthians 12) and fruits (Galatians 5:22-23) of the very same Spirit which raised Jesus from the dead (Acts 1:8, Romans 8:11). Will you believe that in spite of the fire heating up all around us in this world, we can stand on the foundation of Jesus Christ knowing that He already overcame every fire we may face in this world? Jesus defeated death (1 Corinthians 15:55-57, 2 Timothy 1:10) – this goes beyond the lack, pain, adversity, ridicule, mockery, scoffers, persecution, sickness, or anything thrown our way!

The only time it is ever impossible to overcome the hardships we meet on a day-to-day basis is the very moment we “think” we don’t need Jesus (Luke 10:19). That’s when we rely on our flesh and suppress the power of the Holy Spirit to work in our lives (1 Thessalonians 5:19). “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).”

“And when we live in the light, the blood of the death of Jesus, God’s Son, is making us clean from every sin (1 John 1:7).” Sin is a thief. Until we are free from sin we will never experience the abundant life Jesus came to give us all (John 10:10). Believing with our hearts that everything Jesus did for us to live abundantly, and confessing with our mouths that He is Lord (Romans 10:9), sets us up to be covered up by His unfailing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, strength and so much more; which prevents every storm, condition, and circumstance from conquering us. I don’t care if you are struggling with rejection/ridicule, hate/racism, homosexuality/lesbianism, fear, insecurity, worry, doubt, thoughts of suicide/murder, drug/alcohol abuse, lust/porn addictions, marital problems, etc. – Jesus killed it ALL at the cross! Do you believe? If so, will you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today – like right now? Say yes, and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh (Romans 13:14).”
