I’m BreeKay, and my mission with thesearethesounds.com is to make versatile production accessible to artists and musicians, helping them maximize their creativity.
I made my first beat in 2007 on a Korg Triton Extreme music workstation keyboard, and I’ve since grown from the Triton to Pro Tools software and other synths, both virtual and real. In addition to being a beat-maker and producer, I am also an artist and songwriter, and I graduated from the University of Hawai`i as a music minor. As an artist and songwriter, I understand the complexities of wanting production to be creative without slacking in quality, to have a standard of musicianship without sounding dated, and to be innovative, period.
​What makes my beats unique?
The eclecticism of pop, electronic, and orchestral influences, the arrangements, the emotions, the melodies, the chord progressions, and the soundscapes. I don’t sample, so the attention to detail and the care that I put into each of my beats is evident. I think of YOU, the artist, on the other end of my production, and I always leave room for you and your creative ideas.
