Smooth jazz saxophonist/vocalist Gabriel Bello is gospel- and soul-influenced musician with a bent toward instrumental R&B. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1980, Bello grew up in Florida and sang in his church choir when not studying saxophone. While studying music at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, Bello was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease and left school for six months of chemotherapy. With his lymphoma in remission, he returned to performing. He released his self-titled debut album in 2011.
