Hip-hop is more than just entertainment to Richard Dauphin. The Brooklyn, New York artist views the art as a vehicle to communicate faith, hope and the heart of God. For years he has dedicated himself and his music to reaching and impacting the hearts and minds of his audience through song around the world.

At eight years old Richard “met” Hip-hop, which lead to him writing and performing original music at age 13. He became an independent artist with his first release, Life Support, which generated critical acclaim in the Christian Hip-hop community. His performances in venues domestically and internationally have marked him as one of New York’s best lyricists.

After the release of Life Support, Richard took time to pursue his passion for community work in the form of becoming an ordained reverend at his local church, Life Changers Church and Ministries International, as well taking an assistant director role at New York’s Harlem Children Zone, where he is heavily involved in community organizing.

The rising social temperature fueled by the deaths of Eric Gardner, Trayvon Martin, and others, is what shaped the release of incendiary single, Revolution Music. The song draws from two of his personal inspirations – Martin Luther King Jr. and Tupac Shakur.

Set to release his first untitled EP, Richard is excited about getting new music out to the public that expresses his heart: “I’m here and I want the world to know that I got something to say.”
