King FM Radio’s gospel hip-hop show on 99.5 KKLA is a one-of-a-kind program reaching the greater Los Angeles area.
LOS ANGELES, CA — June 3, 2009 — KING FM Radio broadcasts the only live Christ-based hip-hop music show every Saturday evening on 99.5 KKLA in Los Angeles and streaming around the world on www.kkla.com. Hosted by founder Reyna Day, Sammy Sayso, Phil “The Voice” Roberts, and DJ Efechto, the KING FM Radio show brings “hip-hop for your soul” each and every week at 8:30 p.m. (PST).
“I grew up in Los Angeles embracing the hip-hop lifestyle; the music, the partying and all that it entailed, “ said Reyna Day, founder and host of KING FM Radio. “At 17, I found personal redemption through faith in Jesus Christ and this changed my perception about hip-hop. Within this past year, God has placed in me the vision and drive to bring that same redemptive power to the Los Angeles airwaves though King FM Radio.”
The rapid success of the KING FM Radio show has exceeded the expectations of all involved. “Within a five month period, KING FM Radio went from a dream in Reyna’s heart to broadcasting from the largest Christian radio station in the United States,” said co-host Sammy Sayso. “It’s definitely a miracle for the Los Angeles Christian community to accept a Christ-based hip-hop show so fast.”
Los Angeles is considered one of the most influential urban entertainment locations in the world and KING FM Radio is doing its part to be an encouraging voice to the people. “We’ve had tremendous response from our community,” proclaims Phil “The Voice” Roberts, who also serves as youth and worship pastor at Hope Christian Church in Northridge, California. “Listeners call in and let us know that the show is an answer to prayer. Many have been looking for an uplifting and positive alternative to what is offered by the mainstream hip-hop outlets.”
