Chille’ Baby carries on the vision with “The Sleeping Giant”

Chille’ Baby steps back out on the scene, introducing Camp8Republic, and his continued commitment to represent the gospel after the loss of Mr. Solo last year with The Sleeping Giant.

The first single, Bank on It, set the scene, and now it’s time to check the full project.

If you’re newer to Christian Hip-Hop, you may not understand the importance of the album. The Gospel Gangstaz, comprised of Chille’ Baby, Mr. Solo, and Tik Tokk released their debut album in 1994. They are arguably on the last groups from the first generation of the Christian Hip-Hip sub-genre. Their third album, I Can See Clearly Now, was released in 1999 and proved to be their mainstream album, garnering a Grammy nomination.

In 2006, Tik Tokk was arrested, leaving Chille’ Baby and Mr. Solo. In May of 2020, Mr. Solo, Chille’ Baby’s best friend passed away. Chille’ Baby has accepted the challenge to continue to carry out the vision God gave him and Mr. Solo. This album marks the beginning of that work.
