The Apologist of Christcentric and Believin Stephen have been putting out God-glorifying music together dating back to Christcentric’s “City of God,” released in 2006. They’ve each put out numerous projects since then and have collaborated on several occasions throughout the years. This time around, they’ve teamed up for a producer-artist album called “After the Storm.”

2020 has been quite a stormy year. We’ve experienced the death of major icons, the death of innocent individuals at the hand of the police, civil unrest, crooked politicians, a pandemic, and also have to battle our own sin in our hearts on a daily basis. How can we maintain through all of this?

Isaiah 25:4 tells us, “For You have been a defense fo the helpless, a defense for the needy in his distress. A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat”.

So although we may be going through the storm, we must remember that the God of the universe is with us in our storms. Jesus, who calmed the winds and the waves, is with us through all our trials. Therefore, we can have hope and make it through the storm because He is by our side. We can then reflect on his goodness “After the Storm” and tell others of how he brought us through the storm.

The Apologist contributes several of his trademark boom-bap style beats on the project and shows versatility with a few other styles as well. Stephen, fresh off his 2019 Glory Thieves release, equips the album with plenty of rhyme schemes, rowdiness, and an array of flows. Topically the project deals with issues of revenge, forgiveness, loneliness, living through a pandemic, and competing as an athlete unto the Lord. The Apologist and Believin are joined by guest appearances from Chrys Jones of Chriscentric, IV Conerly of NFNTRY, and scratches by DJ Average Joe.
