So many times we as Christians put ourselves in serious compromising positions. When we try to utilize the excuse of “witnessing” while we hang out with friends that don’t see eye to eye with our belief, it doesn’t always work. Why? Well, an unbeliever and a believer’s way of hangin’ out are totally different. It’s much easier to slip back into the “old man hang out mode” than to have someone that has never experienced God to the fullest understand His ways. It’s much harder for an unbeliever to go crazy or get excited when the things of God are being spoken.
It is our job to present the gospel to everyone around us. It is not a coincidence that you have so many people cross your path everyday. No doubt, everyone needs the Lord but can we win him or her over by our own might? Only through and by the spirit of God can anyone truly represent Christ effectively.
On a more intimate level, it is impossible for an unbeliever and believer to be involved in a dating or marriage relationship without there being a compromise of God’s word. For example, if the Bible states that sexual immorality, lying and etc… is sin that will hinder you from seeing the Kingdom of Heaven and one of you believes its okay, something is wrong. Christ should be the center of any relationship that wants to grow and last forever. Let God show you what real fellowship is all about.
Now, let’s take a moment and evaluate the reflection in the mirror. How am I representing Christ when I am with my family and friends? Take a second or two to think about the amount of time you allow God to control you when you are with your family and friends. Allow Christ to be visible and see how God works the lives of others around you.
