Day 9 | Yes Lord, Without Conditions
Published on August 11, 2026

This devotional calls on you not to hesitate in God. In other terms, it’s imploring us to assess a trait we’re all guilty of.
I have noticed that we rarely hesitate when tempted toward disobedience, often acting without thinking, even though it comes at a cost too hefty for us to pay. Yet when God commands us towards a direction, we stall. We claim we need to pray more, think it over, or wait for another sign. We try to negotiate terms with God.
Scripture shows us the contrast in responses. Moses spent time negotiating at the burning bush before finally yielding. Isaiah took a far more direct approach. Isaiah 6:8 states, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.'”
A conditional yes is simply delayed disobedience. When God calls us into ministry, outreach, or a career shift, hesitation robs us of momentum. Moving our feet allows the Holy Spirit to work actively in and through us. Eliminating excuses and giving God an unreserved yes opens the door for Him to direct our path. The journey deepens and clarifies as we step out in total submission.
I can remember being called to ministry in 2012. The foundation had already been laid, but at the time, I didn’t fully understand what God was doing. About two years earlier, I was moved by God from my home church to focus on outreach full time. Outreach had been a part of my life since 2005, but this new chapter required my complete submission.
I recall hearing God say, “Go,” and, naturally, I hesitated at first. However, I did not remain in that place of hesitation for long. I can honestly say that in 2005, I had no idea what God had planned for me in 2012. Even now, in 2026, I still don’t fully understand His plans, but I have learned the supernatural power of saying “yes.”
It’s supernatural because, divinely, when we take steps forward, God begins to mobilize His angels to work on our behalf. These angels, along with the Holy Spirit, assist us in fulfilling our divine purpose. I genuinely feel excited to be a “yes” woman when it comes to following God.
Challenge to you: eliminate the excuses and answer “YES” without conditions. Consider how a Yes to the Lord without hesitation can be a game changer for your walk with Him.
Practical Application
Identify one command or direction from God you have been delaying through overthinking or negotiating. Take the first concrete step toward that instruction today.
Reflection Questions
1. In what specific area of my life have I been negotiating with God instead of obeying?
2. What fear is stopping me from giving an immediate yes?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I give You my yes without conditions. Guide my path and develop in me what I cannot build on my own. Teach me the value of immediate obedience so my words are never half-hearted. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
