DJ D-Lite’s New Album “IllumiNATIONS” Out Now
Published on October 28, 2026
IllumiNATIONS takes its name and its purpose from Matthew 5:13-16, where believers are called the salt of the earth and the light of the world. The album is an attempt to live inside that passage rather than simply quote it, and to ask who “the people” really are in Christian Hip-Hop. Its answer is that the artists, the listeners, and the wider culture all have a part in the story being told.
The project brings together voices from across the Holy Culture Records family and the community around it, with no two tracks sharing the same pairing of artists. DJ D-Lite holds it all together, choosing and ordering each song so the album moves the way a testimony does. It opens with “We Da People,” a statement of who this community is and what it stands for. “Woke Up in the Morning” follows with a story of brotherhood and of people from different places finding common ground. By “Still Alive,” that sense of belonging has turned into something active: a call to get up and move together, carrying the album toward its close.
Musically, IllumiNATIONS is Gospel at its core and hip-hop in its delivery. Its roots are in Philadelphia, in the sounds and traditions that shaped the artists behind it, but it speaks to anyone who has grown up in or around the city and its music.
Alongside the songs is a body of film and photography captured in Austin, Texas. Scripture is set over the images, and the interviews let people speak about their faith and their lives in their own words, long before any song is mentioned. The stories come first because the album is built on them.
IllumiNATIONS is less a collection of tracks than an open invitation. It was made to be shared, added to, and carried forward by the people who hear it, in the hope that the light it talks about doesn’t stay on the record but goes out into the world with them
