Lecrae – Deconstruction (Live Session)
Lecrae releases Deconstruction (Live Session), a video for seemingly one of the most controversial songs from his latest Church Clothes 4 Project.
What is Deconstruction?
In and of itself, the topic of deconstruction has created a lot of conversation over the past few years. Most of that conversation has been negative. If you read the opening explanation in Wikipedia, you can see why…
Faith deconstruction, also known as deconstructing faith, evangelical deconstruction, the deconstruction movement, or simply deconstruction, is a phenomenon within American evangelicalism in which Christians rethink their faith and jettison previously held beliefs, sometimes to the point of no longer identifying as Christians. It is closely related to the exvangelical movement.
Deconstruction examples include Brady “The Phantik” Goodwyn walking away from the faith. However, they also include Lecrae’s story, which he says strengthened his faith.
Earlier this year, Lecrae shared a post around Deconstruction that created a conversation.
However, as with many things, it is worth listening and investigating for yourself before jumping to conclusions about what deconstruction means. Whether you agree with his take or not on the topic, you have to agree with the point that he has walked his faith journey.
