Stop Crying and FIGHT!

Crying_Fight=Article=200=ChristianRapHipHopNewsWhile playing a video game with his Grandmother, my friend’s two year old son won the game.  When Grandmother put on a sad face and pretended to cry the two year old said, “Grandma, stop crying and fight”.  Isn’t it so like a child to speak such awesome truth?  As I delve into Ephesians 6 that’s what I hear God saying.

Faced with financial challenges, marital difficulties, and emotional drama I hear the Lord say Satricia stop crying and fight.  He has given us the tools to do just that, fight, but with so many challenges we seem to cower down and resort to handling our problems with our emotions.

II Corinthians 10:3 (AMP) says “For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.”  It is not with our flesh or our emotions that we win spiritual battles over the enemy, but it is only through being equipped with the spiritual armor outlined in Ephesians 6:10-18.  I think this scripture is so familiar to me that I have often taken it for granted and go through the day without thinking about putting my armor on, until it happens… the car won’t start, the checking account is negative; the coworkers are on your last nerve and on and on.  All of these things the devil uses to distract us from the true call and purpose of the Lord in our lives.   We must learn to equip ourselves everyday to do battle with the enemy because he will attack us and try to keep us from our godly assignments.

I realize that many times when I’ve had difficulty I cry to God and tell Him all my problems and beg for His help when in actuality I should be speaking God’s word with authority over the enemy who is trying to torment my life.  The Lord is so faithful and gentle to us His children.  We serve a God who takes time with us and shows us that His way is the more excellent way.  Looking at Ephesians 6 I know that I have the upper hand over the enemy.  The Lord has provided for me covering on every side and He even says in Isaiah 52:12 “For you will not go out with haste, nor will you go in flight [as was necessary when Israel left Egypt]; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” How awesome is that? My heart is covered with the breastplate of righteousness, my head is covered with the helmet of salvation, my feet are covered with the shoes of peace, I am held together with the belt of Truth, I have the shield of faith to hold up, and the sword of the Spirit and even with all of that God Himself is my rear guard!  It can’t get any better.

Although there will be tears and frustration, through the tears, the hurt and pain I am learning to cling to the God that is my help.  The Lord has awesome things in store for His people to rule and reign as kings and queens.  I think sometimes we need to be reminded that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and not only do we have an inheritance in Heaven but we also have all we need to live victoriously on Earth until Jesus comes.

I challenge you from today on not to go out into the world uncovered (Revelation 16:15).  Always put on your armor.  There is physical war all around us but the greatest war is within, so if you have to cry or scream do it all with the word of God on your lips and a praise in your heart.

God Bless and prepare to fight,

Satricia Wilson
