Thi’sl Retires From Music

Published on November 27, 2023

Thi’sl took to Instagram last week to announce his retirement from music on IGLive.

The CHH veteran spoke candidly to his fans (new and old) about his journey over the past four to five years, confessing that he had not been putting out music like he once did.

Unlike his peers who wanted to create labels, collaborate, and make dope music for the foreseeable future, Thi’sl always knew his future looked slightly different.

“I wanna write books, speak, and do non-profit work. Because as much as music would do for me when I got a microphone and started speaking…it just gave me something different. So that’s how I knew that’s where God was leading me.”

His hunger for non-profit work stemmed from his deep desire to do more for the people he met while traveling as an artist and the realization that tomorrow is promised to no one.

Thi’sl recently received an honorary doctorate in arts management and entrepreneurship and an award from the White House for this commitment to community service.

The now, Dr. Travis Tyler announced he has one last EP ready to put out, but future music projects will be released only if he feels led to. His new path is clear now, and he is prepared to walk it.

Whatever life brings this Kingdom giant, we wish him nothing but the best, and we hope God will bless him in all his endeavors.
