On September 29, 2023, Trip Lee released his fifth single of the year, titled “Standby.” Featuring Hulvey, the song, produced by Trip himself along with Lasanna “Ace” Harris and Joel McNeill, explores the theme of trusting God amidst life’s trials. In contrast to his previous single, “Confetti,” where he spoke from a place of triumph, “Standby” delves into Trip’s personal experience of relying on God when victory feels distant. The song’s lyrics, delivered by Hulvey, encourage listeners to trust God to lift burdens when feeling overwhelmed. 

This marks Trip Lee’s first collaboration with Hulvey since the 116 release of “Live Forever” in 2020. He reflects on the song, stating it serves as a reminder to cease chasing false peace and stressing over uncontrollable matters, choosing to let  God carry our burdens instead. The release follows Trip’s commitment to monthly releases this year, including “At The Cross,” “Lay Down,” “Glory,” and “Confetti.”
