Celebrating the impactful life of Brother E
Published on February 2, 2023
Efrain Alicea, known to many as Brother E, was a Christian Hip Hop pioneer that impacted so many lives, from artists to fans alike. His life will be celebrated on Monday, February 6, 2023, in the Bronx, New York – – and his family can use your support.
Brother E was a family man, a member of Brothers Inc. 4 Da Lord, one of the founders of Rap Fest (a legendary event that was held annually in New York that proved to be a foundational breakthrough opportunity for many artists), and the Pastor at Elements Church.
Expressions of love for Brother E
I am still processing his passing, but I want to ensure we all can celebrate his life and support the Alicia family.
From Brother E’s Family (The Alicea Family)
Let’s help the Alicea family during their time of grief after the loss of their beloved Efrain. On 1/31/23, Efrain went to be with the Lord. His sudden departure left his family deeply heartbroken. In spite of this tragedy, they are relying on the strength of the Lord and the support of family and friends to carry them during this season.
Efrain, also known as Brother E, was the dedicated pastor of Elements Church, an urban church located in the South Bronx, NY. Growing up, he always felt God’s presence, but it wasn’t until 1991 that Efrain came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In time, he began to work with youth and other inner city evangelistic ministries in addition to being the lead pastor of his church. He was also a writer, poet, rapper, musician, activist, and lover of God’s Word with a heart for His people, especially the marginalized and disenfranchised.
Efrain was a family man. He was the primary financial and spiritual provider for his home. He was a devoted father to two children, grandfather to two little girls, and the caring husband to Erika.
Like Efrain, Erika has a heart for spreading the good news of the Gospel to children so that “they may have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, regardless of age, and that they, in turn, may be a light to their family, friends and community.” A former public school teacher turned homeschool mama, she committed many years supporting Efrain in children’s ministry and sharing the joy of a Charlotte Mason Education with all, particularly through the use of diverse living books and, currently, The Art of Color Study.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we collaborate to support them. While we may lack the right words to express our heartfelt love and support of them, we can at least raise enough money to financially carry them through for the next year.
Thank you for being the Lord’s hands and feet for our beloved Alicea family.
