New Christians, Be CAreful Who You Follow

“Having a smartphone and 100,000 followers does not equal spiritual maturity.” On this episode of King Legend Talks, King Legend 757 gives new believers the warning most people never will: be careful who you let teach you about faith online.

He shares a story he’s never told publicly. He once interviewed a Christian creator with millions of followers who seemed to be doing powerful work for the kingdom. Off-script, the man cursed so much that viewers in the live chat begged him to stop. Then he admitted he barely knew the faith. A friend had simply shown him how to grow a platform. King Legend never posted the interview, because he saw a babe in Christ who had been handed a microphone far too soon.

That’s the danger. The internet rewards charisma, not character. When an influencer falls, the people who built their faith on that person often walk away from God entirely.

King Legend offers three filters for scrolling wisely. Does this creator point you to the local church, or back to their channel? Do you see quiet fruit, or just loud gifts? And never let 30-second clips shape your theology.

Your homework: This week, spend more time in your Bible than in Christian content on your phone, and take one step toward finding a local church community.
