Bushwick Bill releases video for “Testimony of Redemption” – lead single for upcoming gospel rap album
Published on November 12, 2009
Filmed in Houston, Los Angeles, and various locations, the clip walks listeners and viewers through the dramatic history of Bushwick – one of hip hop’s most recognizable figures. While it must cover infamous ground (including the mysterious shooting incident that led to the removal of his right eye) it also offers hope and allows Bill to share the life space he currently occupies.
Part of the visuals feature documentary-style footage of Bushwick’s visits to the BET Awards and on the sets of videos for other artists. Look for cameos by Lil Wayne, KRS-ONE, and Busta Rhymes as well as Houston underground hip hop personalities like Tre9, Von Won, and Testimony.
Von Won actually edited the clip and premiered it on his Reel Talk Television show which aired in Houston on November 1. A Rice University graduate and MC, Von Won said he was honored to be a part of the project and excited to share “the new Bushwick Bill” with his fans.
Testimony of Redemption will be released on December 1, 2009 by G-S.P.O.T. Productionz. G-S.P.O.T. stands for God’s Special Purpose of Talent. Pre-orders can be made at DaSouth.com, www.reeltalk.org, or through Infinity Distribution.
“It’s so inspiring to see where the Geto Boy we admired growing up is at now,” George Uscanga, owner of G-S.P.O.T. Productionz, said. “He’s got a message that is impacting and changing the direction of many youth who were otherwise wasting their lives.”
